7.8 KG charas seized from a bus in Solan
Solan, Mar 21 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Police today claimed that it had seized 7.8 kg charas from a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus at Dharampur area in Solan district of the state early today.
The seizure was made from a HRTC bus, which was on its way to Chandigarh from Rampur, at about 0245 hrs at Dharampur during a routine checking, a senior police official said.
When the police stumbled upon the bag, it began enquring about its owner. Since no one came ahead to claim the bag and no co-passenger was able to give a clue to who owned it, the police became suspicious and opened the bag and found 7.8 kg charas.
Since there was so far no clue about the owner of the bag, no arrests had been made yet, police official said.
However, a case had been registered and investigations were on, he added.
