US House Speaker meets PM, EAM : to visit Dharamsala tomorrow
New Delhi, Mar 20 (UNI) United States House of Representatives Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here today and discussed the Indo-US Civilian Nuclear deal and the Tibetan issue.
Ms Pelosi, who arrived here last night on a five-day visit, also met External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee. Foreign secretary Shivshankar Menon was also present during the meeting which lasted about 30 minutes.
Although nothing officially was disclosed what transpired at the meeting, sources said the ongoing turmoil in Tibet and the Indo-US Civilian Nuclear deal figured during the talks.
Ms Pelosi will visit Dharamsala tomorrow for discussions with the Tibetan leadership about the ongoing demonstrations in Tibet. She will also visit Agra and Mumbai.
She will return tomorrow night.
