JD(U) seeks govt action on including Bhojpuri in 8th Schedule
New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) Janata Dal (United) today again raised in the Lok Sabha the demand for including Bhojpuri in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution, causing Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi to concede he loved the language.
"Bhojpuri is on government's priority list ..... I have love for Bhojpuri", Mr Dasmunshi said, adding all that was left incomplete during the NDA rule would be completed during tenure of UPA government.
The Minister responded when Janata Dal(U) leader Prabunath Singh raised the issue amid din during zero hour, asking what steps the government was taking to give Bhojpuri its due status.
