CM presides over the Passing out Prade of trainees at PTC Daroh

Shimla, Mar 20 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal presided over the Passing Out Parade of lower, inter and upper course trainees at Police Training Centre, Daroh in Kangra district today.

He inspected the impressive passing out parade and took salute of Contingents commanded by Constable Rajeev Kumar.

Addressing the Passing Out Parade, he congratulated all the 294 trainees and he hoped that the training would go a long way in improving their capability to undertake new assignments with dedication in order to serve the people of the state.

Mr Dhumal announced 15 percent teaching allowance to all the officers and trainers of PTC Daroh at par with other counterparts of the cadre. The recruitment of 1400 police constables would be carried out district-wise in proportion to the population of the districts of the State in order to give fair representation to eligible unemployed youth, he said.

He said that forensic labs were being set up at Dharamsala and Manali to speed up the investigation process at zonal level which would help in reducing the pressure at CFL Junga.

He said adequate number of posts would be created and filled up to man the zonal labs. He said that Rs 10.81 crore were being spent over the modernization of police department in the State and efforts would be made to procure more funds under the programme from Government of India. Modern infrastructure would be added to existing infrastructure at PTC Daroh so that all latest training programmes were conducted in the college, he added.

The Chief Minister said role of police had changed with times and State police needed to update itself to meet the emerging requirements and should become people friendly. He said that various minor problems of people should be resolved at grass root level itself.

Prof Dhumal said that police officer training programme would be started at H.P. Police Training Institute, Sakoh where research and advanced training programme would also be started.

He emphasized the need to impart training in a very professional manner besides making police people friendly so that commonman had faith in the functioning of police.
