Three of a family found guilty of committing, abetting rape
New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) Three members of a family, including a woman, were today convicted by a city court for committing and abetting the rape of a 16-year-old girl.
According to prosecution, on June 12, 2005, Nirmal, his wife Gauri and his brother Rinku raped the 16-year-old girl who used to work at their shop in Nangloi area of west Delhi.
Additional Sessions Judge H S Sharma found Nirmal and Rinku guilty of the offence of rape and sentenced them to 10-year Rigorous Imprisonment (RI). Gauri was found guilty of abetting the crime and was awarded 7-year RI.
The FIR was registered three days after the incident when the girl came back to her family and reported the matter to her parents.
One of the accused was acquitted for lack of evidence.
