Kidwai for translation of Hali's Urdu poetry

Panipat, Mar 19 (UNI) Haryana Governor Dr A R Kidwai called for translating the immortal message of universal brotherhood and national integration as delivered by Altaf Husain Hali in different languages and get the same published.

The Governor was speaking in a seminar organised jointly by Haryana Sahitya Akademi and Hali Panipati Trust on the theme 'Hali Se Dosti' here today.

"The message of universal brotherhood delivered by Altaf Hussain Hali thousand years ago is still relevant. Hali used his poetry for strengthening the national integration and the message given by Hali did not remain within the premises of Panipat only but it also spread in the world," he said.

The Governor also asked to get published the Hindi translation of Hali's poetry translated by the renowned litteratuer Dr Rana Partap Gannauri for which the Chairman of Galib Trust, Prof Abdul Rehman Kidwai gave his consent to get published the same on behalf of the Trust.

The chairperson of the first Hali Panipati Trust and the member of Union Planning Commission Dr Sayeeda said that "It is a matter of great pleasure that the people of Panipat have understood the message of Hali and they would spread it in the world over in the modern age of globalisation".

Prof Subash Chand of Kurukshetra University, noted writer Deep Chand Normohi, Hali Panipati Trust secretary Ram Mohan Rai, Panipat Nagrik Manch Chairman Mahesh Dutt Sharma and Haryana Police Additional IG V N Rai also spoke in the seminar.
