Srinagar, Mar 19 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned ex-gratia relief in favour of civilians killed or wounded in militancy related incidents in the frontier district of Kupwara.

An official spokesman said the District Level Screening Committee which met at Kupwara under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Kachoo Isfandyar Khan took up a number of cases of militancy-affected families.

During the meeting, which was also attended by senior officers of Army, police and civil administration sanctioned Rs 11 lakh as ex-gratia relief in favour of 19 militancy-related cases.

Out of which Rs 7 lakhs were sanction in favour of the next of the kin of seven people who died in the violence, four injured and eight property damaged cases.
