Child labourers rescued from New Delhi brought back

Malda, Mar 19 (UNI) In all, six child labourers from West Bengal who were rescued from New Delhi's Chilka company premises have been brought home.

SDO (Sadar) Arunima Dey said the children, aged between 9-11 years, were from the state's Malda and North Dinajpur districts.

They had been taken to New Delhi and made to work at the company's factory.

Delhi administration and NGO Bachpan Bachao jointly conducted the the rescue operation and contacted Malda DM Chittaranjan Das, who in turn sent Malda Welfare Officer Pabitra Kumar Nandi and Labour Commissioner Officer Prasad Pawan Das to bring the children home.

The children are now being kept at Malda District Welfare Home in the Englishbazar area.
