AP Govt allows LPG kit fitment to two wheelers

Hyderabad, Mar 19 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government today permitted fitting of LPG kit to two-wheelers, State Transport Minister K Lakshminarayana said in the Assembly.

Replying to D Sreenivasa Rao(Congress), the Minister said section 52 of the Motor Vehicles Act had been amended for allowing use of gas kits with LPG or CNG in two wheelers -- Hero Honda CD 100 SS, Yamaha YD 125, Honda Activa and Hero Honda CD 100.

Replying to another question from K Mohana Rao(TDP), Mr Lakshminarayana said the Government would consider restricting movement of heavy vehicles loaded with granite in Srikakulam district after a detailed report from the Roads and Buildings Department on the condition of roads and bridges in the district.

Referring to the member's allegation that nearly 70 to 80 tonnes of granite was being transported ''illegally'' from Orissa through the Navagaam bridge on the Pakonda-Haddu Bangi road in his constituency in the district, the Minister said no violation had been found during checks conducted by his department officials.
