Tibetans to go on hunger strike in Delhi tomorrow
New Delhi, Mar 18 (UNI) The 43-member Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile will go on a day-long hunger strike here tomorrow to show solidarity with their brethren protesting peacefully across Tibet.
In a statement here, the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile said all its 43 members would be present during the token strike at the Parliament Street here from 0800 hrs onwards tomorrow.
Members of the All Party Indian Parliamentary Forum for Tibet would also be present there to support the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, it added.
The statement said since the 49th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day on March 10, 2008, Tibetans across Tibet had risen to show their deep-rooted resentment against the ''repressive'' Chinese regime.
According to confirmed reports, it said 100 Tibetans have been killed in the crackdown and more are yet unaccounted for.
The Tibetan Higher People's Court of China has issued a notice to all the peaceful demonstrators to surrender by March 17, 2008, the statement added.
