Officer-incharge arrested in police firing case
Nawada, Mar 18 (UNI) Officer-incharge of Rupo police station Shambhu Singh was arrested today in connection with yesterday's police firing, in which two people were injured.
Police resorted to firing at Rupo to disperse a violent mob yesterday.
The arrest orders against Mr Singh was issued after his suspension. He was arrested this morning from Rupo police station.
Meanwhile, the villagers blocked the Nawada-Kauakol road near the police station demanding adequate compensation for the victims.
Senior administrative and police officers were camping at the spot to lift the blockade.
The Officer-incharge had opened fire to disperse an irate villagers, who gheraoed the police station in protest against the recent use of force by police in the local market in which a villager was injured.
