Chamarajanagara (Karnataka), Mar 18: Senior Congress leader and former Karnataka chief minister S M Krishna today exuded confidence that his party would bounce back to power and form the Government on its own.

Speaking to newspersons at M M Hills helipad, he urged the Election Commission to delete lakhs of bogus voters in the voters' list and asserted that the Congress was ready to face the elections. Mr Krishna gave a call to every Congress leader and worker to ensure the party's victory as the situation was perfect to capitalise on the lapses of both the BJP and JD(S) in providing good governance.

Mr Krishna, who resigned as Governor of Maharashtra to re-enter State politics, offered a special pooja at Malia Mahadeswara temple, before embarking on the challenge of facing the hustings.

Referring to the controversy over Hogenakkal falls bordering Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Mr Krishna said this issue had been raging for the last 50 years. The state should take it seriously now as the Tamil Nadu Government was trying to develop a huge drinking water project, drawing water from the falls.

Earlier, Congress leaders and workers of Chamarajanagara district gave a rousing welcome to Mr Krishna at the helipad.
