Kerala HC declines to stay ban on palm oil import

Kochi, Mar 18 (UNI) The Kerala High court today declined to stay a single judge order ratifying the ban on import of palm oil through ports in the state.

A division bench, comprising Chief Justice H L Dattu and Justice K M Joseph, however, admitted the appeal against the order of single judge and issued notices to the Central and Kerala governments.

The appeal filed by M/s Parrysons Food Pvt Ltd challenged the ban, contending that the government can not discriminate against a particular state by not allowing import of palm oil through its ports while allowing it through other ports.
