Court orders registration of FIR against Mukherjee Nagar SHO

New Delhi, Mar 18 (UNI) A local court today ordered registration of FIR against a Delhi Police Station House Officer for instigating a woman to lodge a false rape case against a person with whom the former had a dispute.

Metropolitan Magistrate Vinay Singhal ordered the registration of FIR against Mukherjee Nagar SHO Indira Sharma after hearing an appeal by Devender Adlakha, who was accused of rape and harassment by his tenant Baljeet Kaur.

The order against the police official came after Baljeet told the court that she falsely accused Devender when the SHO arrested her husband and threatened her of consequences if she did not complied.

The SHO even got Baljeet's statement recorded before the court.

The Metropolitan Magistrate also ordered the police to provide protection to Baljeet and her family.
