Assembly adopts Bill to amend AP Land Reforms Act

Hyderabad, Mar 18 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Assembly tonight adopted a Bill to amend the Andhra Pradesh Land Reforms (Ceiling on Agricultural Hodings) Act to provide free cultivable land and house sites.

The Bill piloted by Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao was adopted by voice vote with all parties supporting it.

Accepting the recommendation of the Koneru Ranga Rao Committee, the Government brought the Bill for assignment of ceiling surplus land to the landless poor persons free of cost, and empower the Tahsildar under Sub-Section five instead of Revenue Division Officer for resumption of land.
