Woman killed, four houses gutted in Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 17 (UNI) A woman was killed and four houses were gutted in the Kashmir Valley overnight, official sources said today.

They said Khatija was hit and critically wounded by a vehicle at Janbazpora in Baramulla district. She was rushed to a hospital where she died.

A fire broke out in a house at Damhal Hanjipora in south Kashmir late last night. However, before fire engine could control the flames, four houses were reduced to ashes.

In another incident, a fire broke out in two forest compartments near Chak-e-Badwani in Kulgam in south Kashmir, damaging hundreds of trees.

The fire was not yet contained, the sources said.
