Smuggler shot dead in exchange of fire
Bangalore, Mar 17(UNI) A smuggler was killed in an exchange of fire with forest guards at Chincholi in Gulbarga District of Karnataka today.
Police said the culprits were cutting teakwood in nearby forest area when they were intercepted by the forest guards.
The gang attacked the guards with lethal weapons and started firing.
In the ensuing encounter, seven forest guards sustained injuries and were shifted to hospital. One of the gang members was arrested.
