Indian Navy holds 1687.51 acres of land in Goa
New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) The Indian Navy holds land measuring 1687.51 acres at Dabolim Airport in Goa, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
Defence Minister A K Antony, in a written reply, said post liberation of Goa in 1961, 249.67 acres of ex-Portuguese land which constituted Dabolim Airport was handed over to the Ministry of Defence by an order of the then Military Government of Goa on April 9, 1962.
Rest of the land was acquired post gazette notification of February 23, 1968 in different pieces.
He said out of 1687.51 acres of this land, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) was using 25,696 acres and rest of the land was being utilised by the Indian Navy.
