1 killed, 2 injured in temple car festival
Davangere, Karnataka, Mar 17 (UNI) One person was killed and two others seriously injured when they were crushed under the wheels of a wooden car, being pulled by devotees during Goni Basaveshwara car festival at Koolahalli in the district today.
Police said a huge gathering assembled on the temple premises for pulling the car, which carried the idol.
The ill-fated people slipped over the bananas thrown at the car as offerings by the devotees and got jammed under the huge wooden wheel.
While a youth succumbed to injuries en route to the hospital, the others, who lost their limbs, were admitted to Harapanahalli hospital.
All the three were yet to be identified, police said.
