Gujarat: Puja chauhan's neighbours held

Rajkot, Mar 16: Four people, including a woman, were arrested after Puja Chauhan, who protested in a semi-nude condition against her husband and in-laws last year, filed a complaint against her neighbours, who allegedly threatened to kill her and warned her to vacate the house.

Puja had hit the headlines in July last year by walking semi-nude through the streets here to protest against alleged torture by her husband and in-laws. She has now complaint to Police Commissioner Sudhir Sinha to protect her from neighbours Ranchhod Parmar, Vejiben Merabhai, Meram Bharwad and Pako Parmar.

She warned that if prompt actions were not taken against them, she could again go on a similar parade, Mr Sinha said. Before she could repeat the act, police swung into action and arrested the four yesterday, after the complaint was registered. Meanwhile, another of her neighbours, Vinodbhai Parmar, has also filed a complaint against her for indecent behaviour in public. A case under atrocities act has also been slapped on Puja, the police said.
