'Day not far when women will supercede men'

Varanasi, Mar 15: Eminent scholar and former Union Minister Dr Karan Singh today said the day was not far off when women will supercede men in every field and we have to think about providing reservation to men.

Dr Singh made these observations while speaking at the 90th convocation of the university. Of the 29 medal winners, there were 20 girl students, while the rest were male students, he VC. The chancellors medal was awarded to Poonam Gupta for securing highest percentage marks at the MA/Msc and Mathematics examination-2007, he said. Ashutosh Parkhi, Sudipta Dutta, Arun Kumar Mishra, Priya Tiwari, Deependra Kumar Rai, Rashmi Varshney, N Sujatha, Anima Kumari, Asha Sahu, Nidhi Raj, Kirti Dixit, Rakesh Kumar Mishra, Sangita Pandey, Varun Kumar, Shaily Khanna, Adya Shakti Rai, Garima Rai, Ashish Kumar Srivastava, Puja Singh, Deepti Agwekar, Sujaya Ghosh, Shyam Rastogi, Sidhidartri Bhardwaj and G Jaya Manikya Shastri received the BHU medal.
