Post Baccalaureate Certificate in paralegal studies

Bangalore, Mar 14 (UNI) Script Legal Services India Private Ltd (SLS) today announced introduction of Post Baccalaureate Certificate in paralegal studies, under the auspices of Florida Gulf Course University (GFCU), USA with SLS as facilitator and Garden City College (GCC), Bangalore as trainer.

Talking to newspersons here, Christana R Priyadarshini of SLS, said that this was for the first time in India SLS had made an attempt to offer paralegal courses.

With this, SLS aims to provide quality paralegal programmes to Indian students, which consists of intensive curriculum combining legal theory with practical skills and provide quality, vigorous and challenging legal education to qualified individuals, she added.

Replying to a question she said paralegal is a billion dollar industry and in India the demand for paralegal experts may touch 70,000 by 2011.

With number of multinational companies coming into India on a high, the need for paralegal services was also increasing. Stating that SLS guarantees job placement after completion of the nine month course, she said counselors were also available to help students to develop career skills, identify personal strengths and goals.
