Political rivalry ruined SRTC in J

Jammu, Mar 14 (UNI) Political rivalry between the Transport Minister and the Finance Minister has forced the State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) employees to go on strike in Jammu and Kashmir, a former minister today alleged.

''Rivalry between Transport Minister Hakim Mohammad Yaseen and Finance Minister Tariq Hamid Karra is the root cause of SRTC's bad condition and then the consequent strike of the employees,'' former Transport Minister Randhir Singh said in a statement here.

Mr Singh further alleged that the agreement reached between the management and the striking employees of the Corporation was also sabotaged because of the rivalry between the two ministers.

The former minister sought Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's personal intervention into the matter, so that the demands of the striking employees were addressed and the SRTC became a profit making Public Sector Undertaking of the state government.
