Nagaland Assembly Session from March 18

Kohima, Mar 14 (UNI) The first Budget Session of the 11th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, which took oath of office on March 12, will begin here from March 18.

The first meeting of the Nagaland Cabinet, which was held here yesterday, decided to hold the Budget Session from March 18 as well as fixed the day for oath of affirmation of the new Legislators and election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

Governor K. Sankaranarayanan will address the Session on March 20.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who also holds the Finance portfolio, will present his Budget for the fiscal 2008-2009 on March 24 and the Session is likely to be adjourned sine die on March 27.

Although this was the proposal of the Cabinet, the schedule of the Session would be finalised by the concerned committee of the Assembly, official sources said.
