Kashmir blooms for upcoming tulip festival

Srinagar, March 13, 2008 : Close on the lines of Holland, England and Australia, Indian Kashmir is gearing up to play host to the first ever Tulip festival in the region and preparations for the same are in full swing.

The authorities in the region are busy planting saplings in one of the world's largest tulip garden 'Siraj Bagh' which overlooks the Dal Lake at the foothills of the famous Zabarwan hills. Srinagar's newly developed flower gardens near Cheshma Shahi on the banks of the famed Dal Lake are currently awash with tulip blooms in varied hues.
