10-year-old burnt alive in New Delhi

New Delhi, Mar 14: In a horrifying incident, a 10-year-old boy was allegedly burnt to death after a quarrel with some people at a marriage party in Alipur area of outer Delhi. The charred body of Sanjiv was later recovered from a field, more than a kilometre away from the site where the incident took place, according to sources.

Locals said Sanjiv was reportedly beaten by four people of the marriage party last evening after he demanded compensation for his damaged bicycle, which was hit by a convoy vehicle. ''They later took him away after which he went missing,'' they added.

After tension prevailed in the area following the murder, police said it had detained five people, including two cab drivers, from the marriage party for questioning.

''It doesn't seem to be a murder out of the quarrel but some old enmity,'' the police added.

However, investigations were on and the body was sent for post- mortem to the Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital, they added.
