RJD announces candidates for Rajya Sabha and Bihar Council elections
Patna, Mar 13 (UNI) The Opposition Rastriya Janta Dal (RJD) here today announced names of party candidates for the biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha and Bihar Legislative Council.
Announcing the names of the party candidates, RJD state president Abdul Bari Siddiqui told UNI that Union Company Affairs Minister Premchandra Gupta would contest the Rajya Sabha seat for the party, while extending full support to Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) candidate Sabir Ali in the same biennial poll as the UPA nominee.
About the biennial elections to the state legislative council, Mr Siddiqui said RJD candidates Badshah Prasad Azad and Tanvir Hassan will fight the polls.
Biennial polls was slated for five Rajya Sabha and nine state Legislative Council seats on March 26.
