CM urges Railways to rehabilitate slum dwellers

Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) Slum dwellers affected by MUTP-II development works should be provided alternative site as was done in the case of MUTP I project, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has said.

Mr Deshmukh was speaking at a meeting held at the Vidhan Bhavan for discussing the rehabilitation of slum dwellers near the Dahisar railway line.

The Chief Minister said the Railways should rehabilitate slum-dwellers on humanitarian grounds. The Maharashtra government will extend its full co-operation, he assured.
