Two more arrested in varsity girl rape case

Sambalpur, Mar 12 (UNI) The police today arrested two more youths in connection with the gang rape rape of a first year MCA student of Sambalpur University girl on the night of February 23 last.

The accused were identified as Sanjiv Behera (21) and Trinath Behera (17) of Gauntiapara under Ainthapali police station.

With the arrest of these two youth, the police have so fart arrested ten people in connection with the gang rape case which led to violent incident of ransacking the university office and blocking of roads by the agitation students.

Police said the two youths were the second group who sexually assaulted the girl near the city railway station.They then handed over the girl to a third group early in morning of February 24 last, the police said.

Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has already ordered a RDC inquiry into the incident and asked the RDC to submit his report within a fortnight.
