Srinagar Mar 12: Two people were arrested immediately after they crossed over to this side from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) in Karnah sector today, a police spokesman said.

He said troops guarding the border noticed two people sneaking into this side from PoK at Saidpora in Karnah sector. When challenged, both of them surrendered before the troops of 16 Bihar regiment. The infiltrators identified as Nafeed Ahmad Awan of Kamal Kote Uri and Altaf Ahmad of Taad Karnah were handed over to police. This was the first surrender on the border this year.

More than 100 militants and their family members surrendered before troops in Uri, Keran and Karnah sector last year after their return from PoK, where they had received arms training.
