Provide power or bonus marks says Sena MLA
Mumbai, Mar 12 (UNI) As the load shedding problem is giving a tough time to students appearing for HSC and SSC exams, Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Jadhav today said that if the government cannot provide uninterrupted power supply, they should give bonus marks.
The issue of load shedding, particularly during the exam period, was raised by Sudhir Mungantiwar (BJP) in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. His demand was supported by Mr Jadhav, who went a step ahead and demanded bonus marks for students suffering because of the severe shortage of 5000 MW in the state.
Meanwhile, Senior PWP member Ganpatrao Deshmukh said that while the opposition members were raising this issue with concern, there was no attendance in the Treasury Bench. Only Forest Minister Baban Pachpute was present in the House.
His statement was upheld by the opposition and pandemonium prevailed in the House. At this juncture, the House was adjourned twice for 20 minutes.
Later, Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar said that he had a meeting with Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil on the issue of attendance and its effect will be seen from tomorrow.
