Police suspect AIDS on escaped sex workers
Hyderabad, Mar 12 (UNI) Police today said 24 sex workers, who escaped from State Home here yesterday, were suspected to have been infected with HIV disease for several years.
Official sources said HIV positive was found on ten sex workers in a test conducted on 24 women rescued from red-light areas. The results of the other women were yet to be known .
The young women, aged between 15 to 18, escaped from Home in the wee hours.
It may be recalled that the Crime Investigation Department rescued them from sex rackets in different parts of the country recently.
Special teams were formed to trace the absconding women, sources added.
