Mumbai, Mar 12 (UNI) 'Maharashtra Times' editor Bharatkumar Raut, who filed his nominations for the biennial Rajya Sabha elections, has total assets of Rs 2.50 crore.

Raut's own assets stands at Rs 61,68,549, while that of his wife amount to Rs 1,89,18,000. She owns agricultural land in Karjat, valued at Rs 25,00,000 and a flat in Dadar, Mumbai, whose market value is Rs 1,50,00,000.

He has a loan with HDFC bank of Rs 27 lakh.

Mr Raut has five court cases pending against him in Mumbai High court and other courts in different parts of the state.

Shiv Sena's other candidate industrialist Rajkumar Dhoot, who has been renominated for the upper house, has assets worth Rs 29 crore.

March 15 is the last date of filing of nomination papers. Election, if neccessary, will be held on March 26.
