Kerala IT.Com 2008 to focus state as IT destination
Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 12 (UNI) The Kerala IT.Com 2008, with the theme ''Kerala-The IT Destination,'' will kickstart at the Techopark, near here tomorrow.
The second largest IT exhibition in the country will see Sun Micro, Cisco, Infosys, IBM, IBS, NeST, NIIT, Intel, Microsoft and Wipro, State IT Secretary Ajay Kumar and Technopark CEO R K Nair told reporters here.
They said apart from IT majors in Karnataka, KSIDC, KINFRA, State Bank of India, C-DAC, Sybase, Computer Associate, CMC, HP, 3i infotech, DOEACC, Dell, Core Projects and TVS would display their latest and state-of-the-art products.
Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan would inaugurate the exhibition.
Puducherry Information Technology minister M O H F Shahajan would be the chief guest of the function.
As part of the exhibition, a National e-Governance Advocacy conference would be held with the support of Union Government. It would focus on various factors like service delivery infrastructure and capacity building; Kerala success stories and challenges; IT education; Infrastructure; Best practices. The exhibition would also have major IT companies showcasing their products and services.
Mr Kumar and Mr Nair said some of the major decision makers in IT coming to the state would see the benefits of Kerala for their future growth.
