Hearing on suspended IG's bail plea deferred

Rupnagar, Mar 12 (UNI) A local court today adjourned the hearing of the anticipatory bail application filed by the suspended Inspector General (IG) of police Rajinder Singh till March 19.

The bail application was taken up for hearing by the court of Additional Sessions Judge G S Saran today.

Public Prosecutor Pradeep Mehta informed the court that there was no case against Rajinder Singh. However, the defence counsel said that the state must specify whether there was any complaint pending against the IG in any of the police stations under the jurisdiction of SSP Rupnagar, SSP Mohali and Vigilance Bureau.

Thereafter the court directed the Public Prosecutor for seek reports from the concerned authorities and file the same before the court by March 19 .
