CPI(Maoist) area commander arrested, landmines recovered in Palamu
Daltonganj, Mar 12 (UNI) Police today arrested a self-styled area commander of the proscribed CPI (Maoist) from Nawadih Barwahi area in Jharkhand's Palamu district.
Addressing a press conference here, Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Singh said the ultra, identified as Naresh Ghasi, was wanted in connection with several naxal operations.
Police also seized a country-made pistol and six live cartridges from his possession.
Besides, police recovered three landmines, weighing about 30 kg each, from Lohaesemi-Bermamandi road under Chainpur police station, Mr Singh added.
