BJP demands imposition of President's rule in Kerala

Bangalore, Mar 12 (UNI) Accusing the CPI(M) of unleashing violence in Kerala, BJP National Executive Member P S Sreedharan Pillai today demanded immediate dismissal of the LDF government and imposition of President's rule in Kerala.

Addressing a press conference here, he charged the LDF government in Kerala with 'state-sponsored terrorism' and targeting the BJP and the RSS workers only to 'muzzle the voice of opposition' against its misrule.

Mr Pillai, who was the Former President of Kerala BJP unit, alleged that the LDF government had declared over 100 villages in Kerala as 'Communist Villages' and was loath to see any activities of other political parties in these marked villages.

The CPI(M) had unleashed violence as it was unable to accept the fact that other political parties were gaining ground in Kannur, considered a bastion of Marxists, he alleged.

Demanding immediate intervention of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on the political killings in Kerala, he said the BJP would resort to a nation-wide campaign against the CPI(M)'s authoritarian rule in Kerala.

Condemning the police, which had remained a mute spectator to the killings, Mr Pillai demanded the deployment of central forces to maintain law and order in the state.
