Aphid attack on wheat reported in Hoshiarpur

Hoshiarpur, Mar 12 (UNI) During a recent survey, Haryana's Agriculture Department has noticed that the entire wheat crop in Hoshiarpur district has come under the grip of aphid.

While stating this here today, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Kulbir Singh Deol said that aphid sucks the juice from the leafs and wheat-chaffs which adversely affects the yield.

Dr Kulbir Singh advised the farmers to immediately start spraying prescribed pesticides according to the guidance of agriculture experts to control the aphid attack.

Earlier, aphid attack has already been reported by Punjab Agricultural University in Gurdaspur district.
