Sri Lankan high commission official visits Munambam boatyard
Kochi, Mar 11 (UNI) An official of the Sri Lankan high commission today visited the boatyard at Munambam, near here, where the Tamil Nadu police last week seized a boat being allegedly constructed for the banned Sri Lankan extremist group LTTE.
Though no details were available, police confirmed that a Sri Lankan high commission official visited the boatyard this afternoon.
Police also said that it appeared prima facie that the boat was being constructed for the banned group.
Tamil Nadu police had with the assistance of local police last week seized the boat following disclosures from two alleged LTTE operatives, recently arrested in Trichy, that a boat was being constructed for the outfit at Sudha Boatyard at Munambam.
