Spirit licence will be cancelled soon: Ganesh Naik
Mumbai, Mar 11 (UNI) Maharashtrs Excise Minister Ganesh Naik today said the government has taken a decision to cancel all spirit licences and the matter has been referred to the law and judiciary department.
Making a statement on a calling attention notice given by Shobha Phadnavis (BJP) and others about the death of 27 people in Raigad district after consuming spurious liquor, Mr Naik said the government will also spend money earned from liquor to highlight its bad effects.
Making a statement on another calling attention notice given by Chandrakant Shivarkar and Chandrakant Chhajed (Congress), Health Minister Dr Vimal Mundada said there was no corruption in the Government Mental Hospital at Pune but admitted that there was no audit of the institute from the year 2001 to 2004.
However, members from both the sides persisted that large scale corruption had taken place in the institution.
Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar later asked Dr Mundada to personally visit the Hospital alongwith legislators and said that he himself would visit the Hospital.
