PDS shop owner arrested for selling kerosense oil in black
Nahan, Mar 11 (UNI) A fair price shop owner has been arrested for selling kerosene oil in black to people without ration card holders in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, police said.
Naresh Chand, owner of the fair price shop being run under the public distribution system (PDS), was arrested by a police team under Essential Commodities Act 3/7, while he was selling kerosene oil to a Nepali labourer, identified as Kharak Singh.
The police said on verifying the record, it was found that the owner had not maintained the sale register and the stock was about 110 litre short.
A case has been registered and investigations are on, the police added.
