Navratra fair to be held at Chintpurni from April 6
Una, Mar 11 (UNI) The district administration is making elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the annual 'Chaitra Navratra' fair to be held at Chintpurni shrine beginning April 6.
Deputy Commissioner Padam Singh Chauhan reviewed the arrangements of the nine-day fair at a meeting held at Chintpurni yesterday.
He has ordered a complete ban on organising 'langars' (community kitchen) and using loud speakers. Besides, the use of leaf, paper and plastic plates, carrying of fire arms during the fair has also been prohibited.
More than 400 police personnel will be deployed on duty during the mela duration.
Continuous availability of essential services like drinking water, eatables, milk and electricity will be ensured, said the DC, adding that the health department would set up booths to provide free emergency health services near the shrine.
