Mah govt to give cash prize for 'krishi bhushan'

Mumbai, Mar 11 (UNI) Maharashtra Minister of State for Agriculture Rana Jagjitsingh Patil today announced that the government would give a cash prize of Rs 35,000 in place of the medals for the ''krishi bhushan awards''.

The announcement was made in the state legislative council to the question asked by Dr Neelam Gorhe of Shiv Sena and others.

The change in the stand was due to the controversy over the polished medals and its quality.
