Court favours custody of lost-child to biological parents
New Delhi, Mar 11 (UNI) A city court today ordered the adoptive parents of the two-year-old child, lost in the Uttam Nagar area four years ago, to hand over the child to the biological parents.
Dinesh Sharma and Babita Sharma lost their child in the month of February 2004, in the Uttam Nagar area of west Delhi. The child was later found by the police and handed over to an NGO, who forwarded the child to the Bal Bihar Orphanage Center in Palam area. From there, the child was adopted by the couple Anil and Vandana Jindal.
The biological parents came to know the whereabouts of the child and approached the Jindal family, but the family refused to give the child back to the original parents.
The couple then approached the Guardian's court for the custody of the child. After the trial of four years, the court finally ordered the child to be finally handed over to the biological parents.
The court also took strong notice in the manner the police handled this case. It also said this is a case of ''gross negligence'' and need thorough investigation.
The court has also asked the Commissioner of Police to get the investigation done by a senior officer and to submit the report before the court.
