CBI takes RCF chief engineer in custody in graft charges
Kapurthala, Mar 11 (UNI) The CBI officials today took Rail Coach Factory (RCF) Chief Engineer J K Singla into custody after raiding his office and and residence in a graft case.
According to official sources, two teams of CBI from Chandigarh, led by ASP Mandeep Singh, simultaneously raided the office and residence of Singla on the complaint filed by a Chandigarh-based private firm.
The sources said that Singla had allegedly demanded Rs seven lakh from the firm for clearing its bills for payment.
The CBI officals confirmed the recovery of Rs one lakh from his possession but refused to disclose the details.
After the raids, the CBI officals took the officer into custody for further investigation.
