10 dead, 26 injured in bus accident in Punjab
Gudaspur, Mar 11 (UNI) Ten passengers, including five women, were killed and 26 others injured when the private bus they were traveling in overturned between Dhariwal and Naushera Majha Singh on the Amritsar-Pathankot highway in the district this afternoon.
According to police, the bus was moving at high speed when it overturned due to the bad condition of the road. The bus was on its way to Amritsar from Pathankot.
While six people died instantly, four others breathed their last on the way to the hospital. Of the injured, 12 were admitted to the civil hospital here, while the remaining were admitted to a hospital in Naushera Majha Singh.
Four of the deceased have been identified as bus driver Surjit Singh, Paramjit Singh of Dhariwal and Joginder Kaur and Ajit Kaur, both of Batala.
