SP accused of making animal sacrifice for coming to power
Balaghat, MP, Mar 10 (UNI) With assembly elections fast approaching in Madhya Pradesh, the SP has been accused of conducting a ceremony during which 108 goats were sacrificed.
In a statement, former Union Minister Menka Gandhi's organisation People's For Animal Group member Abhay Kochar said the ceremony was conducted for the purpose of forming government at a temple in Lanji on March 8.
Mr Kochar said people's representatives should not encourage superstition or be influenced by it.
Lanji SP legislator Kishor Samirte admitted that a ceremony took place at the temple during which 25,000 tribals took part. However, he did not respond openly whether sacrifice was made and merely stated that sacrifices were made during 'Eid' also and faith was more important in religious ceremonies.
Tantrik Mahakaal, who reportedly performed the ceremony, admitted that sacrifice was made.
