School bus overturns, one student killed, 20 injured

Jind, Mar 10 (UNI) A student was killed and over 20 others were injured when the school bus they were travelling in overturned on Sajido Road here today.

According to SP Jagwant Lamba, the accident occurred when the school bus of local Minerva High School, apparently turned turtle due to over-speeding while was on the way to pick up children of Dalamvala, Bohatwala and Kokhari villages in the district.

A class ninth student Rakesh, resident of Dalamvala, died on the spot while other students sustained injuries.

Four students, Aman, Sandeep, Sonu, and Sumit, who were seriously injured, were admitted in PGI, Rohatak.

The other injured students have been admitted in local civil hospital.

A case has been registered against the bus driver, Satyawan for negligent driving, Mr Lamba said.
