Minister demands suspension of TDP MPTC member
Hyderabad, Mar 10 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Rural Development Minister G Chinna Reddy today demanded that the TDP suspend its MPTC member of Sri Rangapuram village in Pedderu mandal of Mahaboobnagar district for alleged desecration of Ambedkar statue on March 8.
Addressing a press conference here, he said TDP MPTC member Rama Murty, along with a party functionary, damaged the foundation plaque of a 33/11 KV Substation, scheduled to be inaugurated in the village on March eight. He damaged the statue on the same day, Mr Reddy alleged.
Following an agitation by local Dalits, police arrested both the culprits, who were later remanded.
Mr Reddy assured the local Dalits to re-install the statue.
