HP govt to probe into 'irregularities' in SCVT centres allotment
Shimla, Mar 10 (UNI) The BJP government will order a high level probe, if required, a vigilance inquiry, into alleged irregularities in the allotment of SCVT (State Council of Vocational Training) centres during the previous Congress regime.
The government will also cancel those allotments which were sanctioned in violation of norms, said Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal while replying to a question by BJP MLA from Kotkehloor, Randhir Sharma during Question Hour in the state assembly.
Mr Dhumal said, ''The present government is not responsible for those who undertook training in the SCVT centres in question.'' Earlier in his reply, Horticulture Minister Narender Bragta said, the government was worried that the previous government had sanctioned many of the SCVT centres on political grounds without following proper procedures and norms. And there were number of complaints with the government regarding this.
He said certain people who were denied these centres in violation of norms had got the relief from High Court.
He said from April 1, 2003 to October 31, 2007, total of 277 SCVT centres were opened in the state, and there were 431 applicants.
